Swans in link with PSV ace

-

SWANSEA City are being linked with a move for £12m-rated PSV defender Santiago Arias.

The 25-year-old full-back is reported to be interesting the likes of Liverpool, Everton, West Ham and Tottenham, as well as the Swans, according to the Daily Star

Earlier this season, Arias, who has 32 caps for Colombia, said: “I have a contract until 2019 with PSV, but I am ready for the next step.

“In the summer I hope there is clarity as soon as possible. My agent knows I want to go to Germany, England or Spain and is working on that.

“But it is important that there is a sufficient prospect of playing time. If there is nothing, I’ll stay here. I’ve already played over a hundred appearances for PSV. That’s not crazy, right?”

He first played for Colombia in a 2014 World Cup qualifying match against Paraguay, going on to play in the tournament in Brazil.

Arias was a youth product of the La Equidad academy in Columbia and was thrust into the senior squad in 2009. He impressed there as well and decided to chance his arm in Europe, moving to Portugal.

He was scouted by Sporting Lisbon while representing the Columbia U20 side and moved to Europe, sending most of his time with the B squad. He made 28 appearances for them and seven for the first team but failed to nail down a regular spot in the first team.
