Trio propel excited crowd intoWonderland

-

IT seemed as though half of Swansea turned out to see boyband Take That on Wednesday night, judging by the length of the queues surrounding the Liberty Stadium.

And if the queues weren’t proof enough of just how many people were there, then inside the stadium definitely was, as it was jam-packed with screaming fans.

Girl group All Saints took to the stage to get the crowd going, and they certainly did, with their nostalgic hits such as Never Ever and Pure Shores, transporting the crowd back to the ’90s in preparation for the main act.

With the lights dimming and dancers taking to the stage, fans were desperate to catch their first glimpse of the trio – only each member emerged from the stands and powered through the reaching crowd to get to the stage in the middle of the stadium. Their impressive set certainly didn’t disappoint, with floating dancers, a flying carpet and a raised stage all included, not to mention a confetti shower and bursts of flames.

Fans went wild when the band left the stage to perform from individual podiums situated within the crowd, with many throwing themselves towards the singers in the hope of a high-five.

There was a healthy mix of new songs from their current album, Wonderland, including Giants and Cry, and their classic hits from the past 20 years, such as Take That and Party, Back For Good and Relight My Fire, all of which definitely went down a storm as the crowd swayed along and lit up the stadium with their phones.

The trio left the stage, but not before thanking their dedicated fans who have been following the band for over two decades now. Returning for an inevitable encore, an impressive firework finale showered down over the stadium to finish off the night during fan-favourite Rule The World.

Getting to see a world-renowned band on our doorstep made the night even more special, hopefully they will just be one name in a growing list.
