Beach has become one big dogs’ toilet

-

I VISITED Port Eynon beach on the Gower today and was both disgusted and angered at the number of dogs on the beach, in spite of signs forbidding the use of the beach by dogs from May to September.

Some people were walking around with as many as three dogs with them, other dogs were just running free.

This beach has become one big dogs’ toilet.

I can only assume holidaymakers have brought their pooches with them and are just ignoring the local by-law with seeming impunity.

It doesn’t surprise me because local dog owners do just the same on Swansea beach.

When is this by-law going to be enforced and why should the rest of us have to put up with piles of disgusting, germ-ridden dog waste on our beaches?

Swansea City Council needs to take a serious look at this problem, which is totally out of control.

Why can’t Community Police Officers be drafted in to enforce this law and impose fines or arrest dog owners flouting the law?

I shall not be visiting Port Eynon in a hurry after this disgusting sight. Mark Davies Swansea
