Ashton Gate kick-off is switched for Bluebirds

-

THE kick-off time for Cardiff City’s clash with Severnside rivals Bristol City at Ashton Gate on Saturday, November 4 has been changed at the request of the police.

The Bluebirds were due to face Lee Johnson’s side at 3pm, but the club have confirmed that the kick-off time has been brought forward by three hours to 12pm after discussions with the authorities.

Neil Warnock’s first game in charge of the Bluebirds was against the Ashton Gate outfit in October last year, a live TV match Cardiff won 2-1 thanks to goals from Peter Whittingham and Sol Bamba in front of more than 20,000 fans on a Friday night.

The second meeting between the sides during the 2016-17 campaign was played at midday on January 14, with the Bluebirds coming from behind to secure a stunning 3-2 triumph over The Robins on their own patch to complete a magnificent league double.

A statement on the club’s official website read: “Cardiff City’s away Sky Bet Championship match at Ashton Gate has been moved.

“The Bluebirds will now face Bristol City at the earlier time of 12pm on Saturday, November 4, 2017.

“Originally scheduled for a 3pm kick-off, this match has been moved to an earlier time at the request of the police.”

The return match is currently scheduled to take place at Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday, February 24, next year.
