The good, the bad and the snugly

Gogol Bordello, Tramshed, Cardiff

-

THERE’S something fantastically unique about the concept of a nine-piece eastern European-influenced gypsy punk ensemble but that’s exactly what’s coming to the Cardiff’s Tramshed tonight.

Since 1999, Gogol Bordello have been infusing their music with multiculturalism and a vibrancy of international beats.

Cardiff’s Tramshed is to be the band’s second stopping point on a UK wide tour which precedes the hotly anticipated arrival of their seventh album, Seekers and Finders, on August 25.

“Seekers and Finders,” says frontman Eugene Hütz, “is just a very magical and playful record for us. It just feels quite complete in capturing the Gogol familia transcontinental lifestyle, every side of it... the good, the bad, and the snugly.”

The album itself is already available to pre-order on the group’s website and across streaming platforms, whilst its first track Saboteur Blues – a frenzied punk rocker – can be listened to right now. In Hütz’s words, the “song is about the full commitment to the moment and putting the end to this self-sabotage... and going on a rampage with it.”

Seekers and Finders has been described as “an aural party” and their Cardiff performance will give Welsh fans their first chance to experience it live and in all its “full-throated” glory.

Expect variety, anticipate excitement and bask in an oeuvre like no other.
