Form, but are they part of plans?

particular role. There’s goals in Saadi and there’s definitely goals in Tomlin too. So at the moment we’re in a good place because we’ve got to have people to come on and change a game.

We didn’t have that last year, we had to rely on the 11 that started.

“Whereas here we’ve got a lot more pace and a lot more power.”

Saadi certainly exhibited that pace against Tavistock. Whether he remains with the first team squad, however, remains to be seen.

Cardiff are well stocked in the forward positions after the signings of Tomlin and Danny Ward. Matty Kennedy Kennedy is able to play on both flanks, and actually featured in the same No.10 position as Saadi against Tavistock after replacing the Frenchman at half time.

There were again flashes of Kennedy’s quality - and he’s always willing to take a risk and try a trick- but the former Everton youngster couldn’t quite link up with Ward to provide a goal. A feature of his game is his eye-catching wing-play but Warnock will surely challenge Kennedy to add more goals.

And Warnock hinted Kennedy could be among those who depart the club this summer. Hoilett’s return and the arrival of the impressive Nathaniel Mendez-Laing mean it’s a fight for places out wide as well.”We’ve got people like Kennedy who was on loan at Plymouth last year and I’m looking at him,” said Warnock, laying down a marker to the 22-year-old.

“Can he do a job for us? We’ve got Junior Hoilett to come back, he’s been away on international duty until July 15. So we’ve got options and it’ll be interesting for me, I’ve got a few decisions to make in the next couple of weeks.”

It seems it’s make or break for Kennedy.
