Swansea BS creates new managerial appointmen­t

SWANSEA Building Society has appointed a new member of staff as the society enhances its reach to the south-east region of Wales.

Richard Miles, from Cardiff, has joined Swansea Building Society as head of savings/area manager (east Wales) – a newly created position.

His role will be split between managing the savings side of Swansea Building Society, ensuring the products offered continue to meet the needs of the society and its members, and promoting the society throughout east Wales.

Having worked in financial services for more than 20 years, Mr Miles brings extensive industry experience to Swansea Building Society.

Before his current appointmen­t he worked at Monmouthsh­ire Building Society for 12 years as general manager of retail, human resources and training. Before that, he worked at Nat West for over a decade in various roles throughout south Wales and the Midlands.

Alun Williams, chief executive officer of Swansea Building Society, said: “Richard is a highly respected and experience­d financial services manager who will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the society.

“I am delighted Richard has agreed to join us and look forward to working with him going forward as the society continues to expand in south and west Wales.”
