Police vehicles ‘box in’ suspect

A SUSPECTED stolen vehicle driver was arrested when four police vehicles boxed in the grey car.

A Newport resident saw the moment when police patrol vehicles descended on the car in the Pill area of Newport.

A Gwent Police van then arrived and a man was seen being put into the back.

After the incident, shortly after lunchtime yesterday, Gwent Police’s area support east unit tweeted to its followers: “With @ gpasuwest @gpdogsection stolen vehicle located and boxed in Pill with driver still in driver seat. Also possession of Heroin #naughty.”

In reply Newport’s Chief Inspector Mike Richards tweeted: “Brilliant job all.”

Gwent Police’s dog section tweeted that Police Dog Taylor had been involved in the operation.
