90s girl band with attitude back on tour
TLC at Motorpoint Arena, Cardiff
Hands up if you remember 90s girl band TLC?
Well, the No Scrubs singers are making a comeback – and will perform in Cardiff this winter.
The chart-topping group released a massive selection of R‘n’B anthems including Unpretty, No Scrubs and Creep.
Original members Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins and Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas’ are expected to perform all of their iconic hits as well as new tracks from their latest studio album, conveniently named TLC.
They will perform at Motorpoint Arena Cardiff on Saturday, November, 11 as part of their first ever UK tour.
Fans also have the opportunity to meet both members for £160.
Having sold over 65 million records worldwide, TLC are not only the best-selling American girl group of all time; with four Grammy Awards, four multi-platinum albums (two of which went diamond), ten Top 10 singles and four number ones, they are also one of the most influential of all time.
The American girl group formed in 1991 and dominated the international pop secene during the 1990s and early 2000s.
Their close friendship and bad girl attitude resonated with millions of fans, with many replicating their style.
Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes, the third member and lead singer of the band, died in a car accident in 2002.
After largely stepping back from the public eye since the death of Lopes, a Kickstarter campaign was launched to contribute towards recording the new album, with the likes of Katy Perry amongst the first to donate.
TLC’s comeback show earlier this year at London’s KoKo sold out immediately.
The announcement comes after it was confirmed that hiphop legend Nelly will perform at Cardiff University’s Student Union.
Ticket prices start from £47.05, plus booking fees, and can be purchased on www.ticketmaster.co.uk or by calling the Motorpoint Arena Cardiff box office on 029 2022 4488.
