Cast your vote on ambulance service staff

-

THE Welsh Ambulance Service is asking members of the public to pay homage to its incredible colleagues by voting in its Staff Awards.

Every year the Trust holds a ceremony to recognise those colleagues with long service and good conduct and celebrate the fantastic work taking place.

As well as those traditional awards, there are category awards, including the Working Together Award, Personal Excellence Award and, new for 2017, the Patient’s Choice Award, which recognises those staff and volunteers who have gone the extra mile in the line of duty.

More than 150 nominations were received after entries opened in May, tripling last year’s figure, and now you can vote for your winners online.

Chief executive Tracy Myhill said: “Last year we hosted our first all-Wales staff awards ceremony, and clearly we did a fabulous job because nominations have more than tripled this year.

“Awards ceremonies are a wonderful way to recognise the sterling efforts of our colleagues, and what better way to celebrate their contribution than by asking the people we serve, people in Wales, to help us decide our winners.

“I’m so inspired by the excellent service we provide across the organisation, and I can’t wait to read more remarkable stories in this year’s nominations.”

There are eight categories to vote in, including the Working Together Award, Taking Ownership Award, Personal Excellence Award, Valuing Difference Award, Inspiring Others Award, Being Better Award, Great Listener Award plus the Patient’s Choice Award.

The number of votes received will determine a shortlist for each of the awards.

A judging panel will review each shortlist, and the winners will be announced at the Trust’s staff awards ceremony at Llandudno’s Venue Cymru in October, sponsored by the Ortus Group.
