Cymru can recover when Brexit kicks in

-

I WRITE to emphasise how absolutely correct Harry Thomas of Neath Abbey was in his letter (“EU will end up a magnet for migrants”, July 27).

By Brexit, the UK will narrowly avoid becoming a small state of a United States of Europe, thus losing even more sovereignty, decision making and identity.

As a staunch, proud and patriotic Welsh-speaking Welshman, I am deeply concerned about the significant erosion of our language, culture and way of living in our country and especially within our communities in rural Wales. It is unacceptable that the Welsh language has now slipped into third place after English and other European languages.

Richard Shurey, of Tonypandy, was also right in his letter last Thursday when he reminded us that barbaric practices still persist in Spain; for example, with bullfighting not having been outlawed by this self important, bureaucratic and expensive European club.

Some political parties baffle me hugely regarding their stance in relation to the EU. Aren’t they concerned as to what is happening with our way of life? I care too much for all that Wales stands for to allow the rot to go even deeper and beyond repair and recovery.

Enough is enough! This is Cymru which will stop collapsing and start recovering after March 2019.
