Touching tributes left at crash scene after runaway 4x4 tragedy

-

TEDDY bears, flowers and messages of sympathy have been left at the scene of a crash which killed a one-year-old girl.

Pink heart-shaped balloons have also been placed next to the row of flowers left in memory of Pearl Melody Black in the residential street where the tragedy occurred. One card read: “With deepest sympathy. No words can express how sad we feel for you at this time.”

Another said: “Twinkle twinkle little star. Pearl – another little star in the sky tonight.”

Pearl died after a Range Rover which was parked in a driveway rolled down a hill and crashed into a wall, which then collapsed.

She was taken to nearby Prince Charles Hospital, but died shortly afterwards.

Her eight-month-old brother was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

South Wales Police is now investigating how the empty car came to be moving in Heolgerrig, Merthyr Tydfil, on Sunday.

Pearl’s family are being supported by specially trained officers.

Her father, Paul Black, runs a tattoo parlour in the town and is a singer who has previously appeared on BBC talent show The Voice.

On Monday Pearl’s parents, Paul and Gemma, paid tribute to their beloved daughter.

They said: “Pearl was every single star in every single sky, she was as bright as the stars, when she looked at you with those eyes and she would melt your heart.

“She was the reddest pearl in the ocean and the sweetest melody ever written.

“She was the greatest dancer and she has left a massive hole in our hearts, the world will be a darker place without her. She was the reason we all lived.”
