-

THE NHS Wales Informatics Service (NWIS) has taken office space at the Castlebridge office scheme in the centre of Cardiff.

NWIS has signed a new eight-year lease and will occupy two floors of 5 Castlebridge. This forms additional office space for NWIS with its head office located nearby in Cowbridge Road East. Property advisory firms Savills and JLL acted on the deal.

Castlebridge comprises five interlinked buildings totalling 55,000sq ft of office space. The development was purchased by Bristol-based Ashville for clients three years ago.

Gary Carver, director in the business space team at Savills in Cardiff, said “We are delighted to have secured new tenants at 5 Castlebridge.

“The development is well located for the city centre and the availability of secure cycle parking and showers has been a major attraction for a number of companies here.”

Rhydian Morris, JLL director of office agency, Cardiff, said: “A city centre location continues to be a key requirement for the majority of occupiers, which directly links to employers wanting to offer the best possible transport modes for their employees. Castlebridge meets these requirements very well and also offers a modern office specification.”

Velindre NHS Trust were represented by Sian Cornwell-Shaw of NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership – Specialist Estate Services. The NHS Wales Informatics Service is responsible for delivering the national information and technology services needed for modern patient care and for maintaining NHS Wales’ operational IT services.
