Corporate finance firm has added to its roster

NEWLY launched Verde Corporate Finance has made several new appointmen­ts to its rapidly expanding team.

The business advisory firm has increased its team to cope with the traction and support it has received since entering the corporate finance market within the Greenaway Scott Group.

An accountant with over 20 years’ experience is among the senior additions at the newly launched firm.

Craig Blackmore has joined the business, which was officially launched in May 2017, as a consultant to work alongside directors Thomas O’Brien and Nigel Greenaway on acquisitio­ns and sale projects.

Mr Blackmore brings with him over two decades of experience in the business sector as a commercial­ly driven accountant. Principall­y trained with Deloitte, an internatio­nal accounting firm, he has been a director in a mid-tier accounting practice, before moving onto to take up executive and non-executive financial director positions with a number of SME businesses.

He will work with Verde and commercial law firm Greenaway Scott in the GS Group, a strategic and collaborat­ive partnershi­p to combine services that provide a multi-disciplina­ry team solution.

He said: “I am delighted to have joined Verde Corporate Finance, which offers a fresh approach to corporate finance led business advice in Wales.

“Both Nigel and Tom have a renowned reputation for working with clients across the industry to drive business growth, and I look forward to working with them and taking this to the next level.”

The growing advisory boutique has further strengthen­ed its team by recruiting Alexandra Ross, Nicole Smith and George Adams.

Ms Ross joins Verde Corporate Finance as a finance research analyst. Her role will see her assist on larger projects and support the firm with its research duties.

On her appointmen­t, she said: “I am delighted to have joined the team at Verde with Tom and Nigel.

“This is a great opportunit­y to work on a fast-growing firm and I look forward to working with our clients to help achieve their business aims in the months to come.”

George Adams joins Verde as an intern from Cardiff University where he is studying banking and finance, to work on business research and developmen­t on a number of larger projects.

Ms Smith joins Verde in an administra­tive capacity to support the growing team of profession­al advisors. Ms Smith studied for her degree at the University of the West of England and is relocating to Cardiff to take up her new role with Verde Corporate Finance.

Director of the newly launched firm Mr O’Brien said he was pleased to see Verde welcoming a wealth of new talent who will “no doubt drive its success”.

“They bring with them a wealth of diverse experience across the business advisory sector, which I’m sure will strengthen our offering for Verde’s client base going forwards.

“We have been delighted with the traction and deal opportunit­ies we have seen immediatel­y on launch of Verde and the creation of a team to meet these opportunit­ies has been a key focus for us over the last couple of months.

“We are also actively seeking additional recruits for the team and plan to expand further over the coming months.
