Gospel choir to accompany classic film

Sister Act Live Choir, St David’s Hall, Cardiff

CARDIFF is to be blessed with a truly special showing of Sister Act – complete with a live gospel choir.

The ’90s classic will be shown on a huge screen whilst a live 35-piece gospel choir and band perform the film’s hit songs in St David’s Hall. Let us hear you say Hallelujah! Fans of the film, will be able to sing-along with the Uplifted Voices choir, who have featured on The Voice and The X Factor, as they give powerful, goosebump-inducing performances of songs like My God and I Will Follow Him.

The live music show has already been watched by more than 15,000 fans of the classic movie.

Sister Act tells the story of Vegas lounge singer Deloris Van Cartier (Whoopi Goldberg), who, after witnessing a murder at the hands of her boyfriend, has to enter witness protection to avoid a similar fate.

She turns to the one place that she hopes he will never look – a convent. Disguised as a nun, Deloris woefully tries to adopt her new lifestyle. And, after several false starts, she finally finds her voice at the heart of the church choir.

The special screening is on February 17, 2018.
