Bluebirds turn down Zohore bid

-

CARDIFF City are prepared to fight off any late window interest in striker Kenneth Zohore after turning down a fresh £10m bid from Hull City

Hull had already been warned off the frontman earlier this summer but have returned with an improved offer in a bid to tempt him away from Cardiff City Stadium.

The Tigers have moved after fears grew that striker Abel Hernandez will face a lengthy lay-off after he was stretchered from the field with a suspected serious injury during their defeat to Wolves on Tuesday.

But Cardiff have again held firm against the interest, while suggestions that Brighton had also tabled an offer for Zohore have been dismissed.

Seagulls boss Chris Hughton was at the Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday as Zohore helped Neil Warnock’s side make it three Championship wins from three.

It prompted suggestions Brighton had made an offer to snatch the Danish hot-shot away from south Wales, following on from previous links to the 23-year-old earlier this summer.

But Bluebirds sources are adamant there has been no offer from the south coast club – and they won’t welcome any further interest in the player should Brighton or Hull look to Zohore to solve their own search for a striker.

Cardiff chiefs are keen not to disrupt early momentum made by manager Warnock with owner Vincent Tan having praised the work of the veteran boss in the transfer market.

Hull made the first serious moves for the forward last month only to see their original £8m interest dismissed by Warnock who was determined to hold onto the player.

And it has now been reiterated that they are ready to stick to their guns and see off any attempts to land last year’s top scorer in the remaining two weeks of the window.
