SANCHES SIGNS FOR SWANS ON DRAMATIC DEADLINE DAY:

-

CARDIFF City said farewell to winger Craig Noone, but were last night still trying to wrap up their final pieces of summer transfer business as they attempted to thrash out loan deals for Craig Bryson and Liam Feeney.

Noone completed a permanent switch to Bolton, which had lifted hopes of Warnock making 11th hour deadline day moves before the window closed.

The Bluebirds were trying to make a breakthrough , with Warnock eager to add to his options by the capture of Derby midfielder Bryson on a season-long loan, as well as Blackburn winger Feeney who could have arrived on a temporary stay until January 1.

It followed the departure of Stuart O’Keefe on loan to Portsmouth, after the central midfielder failed to nail down a spot in the City team during Warnock’s time in charge.

The former Crystal Palace man, 26, has only featured twice for the Bluebirds this season, both times in midweek Carabao Cup action.

One of those appearances was against Portsmouth, and O’Keefe now joins up with Kenny Jackett’s League One outfit hoping for regular first team action.

Pompey boss Jackett said: “We’re very pleased to bring Stuart in for the rest of the season.

“He brings experience and aggression into our midfield and will complement the young ball-playing guys in that area of the pitch.”

Noone brought his five-year association with the Bluebirds to an end after signing for Bolton Wanderers.

The 29-year-old wide man has signing a two-year permanent deal with the Trotters after 19 goals in 170 appearances, but he had been told that he would play little further part under Warnock.

And his departure, as well as O’Keefe’s, then allowed Warnock to push for moves for Bryson and Feeney, deals that would have taking his summer recruitment up to ten players if they were able to thrash out agreements before the 11 om shut-offs.

There was also interest in Wales midfielder Joe Ledley, who is still available for Cardiff to sign on a free despite the window closing at 11pm last night.
