Footballers’ Wives home is new to the market
FANCY living like a Premier League footballer? Then here, maybe, is your chance. Swans captain Leon Britton and his family are downsizing and have just put their stunning, high-spec, five-bedroom property in the Gower village of Three Crosses on the market. And if you happen to have £1.1m going spare and fancy trading up, it could be yours.
The Gables is set over three floors and comes with everything you might expect from a Premier League player, including a huge lounge, an imperial oak central staircase, a feature red-brick fireplace and a kitchen that is straight out of a designer catalogue.
There’s also a family room at the front of the house, providing an additional living area.
The main bedroom boasts a sumptuous en-suite bathroom, with free-standing bath and large shower unit. It also has a huge walk-in wardrobe area. A family room at the front of the house provides an additional living area should you need it. On the top floor is a games room, which currently has a Swans-inspired snooker table in it, a bar, and projector. Outside, access is via wroughti r o n electric gates, plenty of parking for as many de luxe cars as you might own and a private garden just perfect for kicking a football around! Estate agent Fine & Country in Mumbles says the property “is a private, extremely generous home which sits at the end of a highly desirable, private road.
“It offers extremely generous and flexible accommodation set over three floors and has been constructed to a high specification. It is immaculately presented throughout and is set in a semi-rural village location, with countryside views.”
Dad of three Britton, a midfielder, first joined Swansea on a permanent transfer in 2003 and went on to make 270 league appearances for the club over a seven-year span before switching to Sheffield United in the summer of 2010. He transferred back to Swansea in January 2011, and is understood to be moving locally.
His wife, Laura, says: “It’s such an amazing home to live in. We completely fell in love with it. The sheer size, combined with the knowledge that it’s totally secure, made it feel like a safe place for my family to live, which is my main priority.”
