Will it be handy for bossAndy?

CONNAH’S Quay manager Andy Morrison hopes that the promising midweek performance, when his side drew 2-2 with Welsh Premier champions The New Saints, will be repeated at lowly Carmarthen Town this afternoon.

Two poor defensive errors cost the Deeside club, so Morrison had mixed emotions.

“To be honest, I was disappointed we didn’t get all three points,” he said.

“Our home record is superb. We have lost just once in 2017 on our ground.”

The Old Gold have won just once so far and this is only their second match on their new 3G pitch, the first resulting in a hefty 5-0 thrashing by TNS.

“It’s never easy going to Carmarthen and Mark Aizlewood is an experienced manager who will see they are OK,”added Morrison.

Present leaders Bangor City host Cardiff Met, who are in third spot following an excellent start. The visitors’ defence, which has conceded only five goals in eight matches, is the key to their success.

A draw at Bangor University would suit The New Saints, who are ready to spring back to top spot with a home success over Prestatyn, who have a nice sixpoint cushion over the bottom two. Scoring goals is the Seasiders’ Achilles heel and they will find Saints unforgiving at the back following six clean sheets from the last seven matches.

Llandudno have lost three on the trot, but will be looking to return to winning ways at home to Aberystwyth, who have yet to taste success under under-pressure boss Neville Powell.

In the remaining encounter, Barry Town United host Cefn Druids, both sides on impressive unbeaten runs and comfortably placed mid-table.
