ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW...

How much will it cost? Authentic jersey (exact specifications of the playing kit) £90; Men’s replica jersey £65; Women’s jersey £65; Youth jersey £50; Adult shorts £29.99; Youth shorts £19.99; Adult socks £11.99; Youth socks £9.99; Infant kit £44.99; Toddler kit £44.99; Presentation jacket £89.99. What’s this about bespoke jerseys? The Welsh Rugby Union say that ‘no two shirts will be the same’, which means your jersey will be bespoke. The shoulders feature precise stitching that details the topography of Lampeter, Neath, Bangor and Cardiff. Because of the way the material is cut during production, that detail on the shoulder will never be replicated on another shirt, which is quite cool. How does the price compare to others? Pretty well actually. This kit is more expensive than the last one Wales released ahead of the 2015 Rugby World Cup, but so is everyone else’s. That’s the way of the world now unfortunately. If we take the authentic jersey as our yardstick, Wales’ will cost you £90, England’s and Ireland’s are retailing at £95, while Scotland are matching Wales at £90. However, Wales fans will be getting better value for money because this kit will take them up until the 2019 Rugby World Cup. So you’re almost getting two full years out of it. The kits from the other nations will only last for this season. When can I buy it? The jersey will be available to buy from October 24 and Wales will wear it for the first time against Australia at the start of their autumn campaign on November 11. The new kit is available on October 24 and you can pre-order it from the WRU store. What about the away kit? There are no images or details available about the away kit. What we do know is that it will be released in November. So it’s one to look out for.
