PIVAC AGREES A NEW DEAL

launch a Swansea attack.”

A sporting lifetime on, or 16 years to be precise, Henson will return to Swansea as part of a Dragons team whose increasing confidence is in no small way down to him.

“He’s going to be a massive threat – the way he glides around the field and puts his team into the right areas,” said Biggar. “It will be great. “I’ve never actually played against Gav and so it’ll be good to test my wits against a world-class player.

“He looks as if he has time on the ball. I watched the first half of the Dragons’ game with Cardiff Blues the other day and he showed some nice touches, bringing people into play.

“The Dragons have a young team and he brings confidence to those around him.

“With the talent that they have, they need a focal point, a guy who has been there and done it and Gav certainly fits that bill and guides them.

“He doesn’t overdo the game and force things and he plays within himself, which is quite an attribute.

“It will be great to see him back at the Liberty.

“He spent some great years here and deserves a great reception.”

Even so, the Ospreys can’t afford to wallow too much in sentiment.

The Dragons have shown flashes of quality this term and boast some of the most promising young players in the Welsh game.

Biggar, Alun Wyn Jones and Co will look to make their quality, and home advantage, count.

There will be time for pleasantries later. Who knows, maybe the odd autograph might be signed. We’ll see. But the certainty is two quality No.10s will be going up against each other and their battle alone will be worth the admission money. THE Scarlets have received a huge boost with head coach Wayne Pivac committing his future to the region.

The New Zealander, who guided the region to the PRO12 title last season, has signed a new contract which will keep him in West Wales until at least 2020.

Commenting on his new deal, he said: “I’ve made no secret of the fact I’m enjoying my time here

“I’m looking forward to the next few years and seeing the Scarlets continue to develop and grow and I’d like to thank the Board of Directors for their support.

“We’ve done a lot of hard work to get the team to where we are and it’s a project that isn’t finished yet.”
