Family pay tribute to ‘one in a million son’

-

THE family of a teenage boy who died after being taken ill at a Halloween rave have described him as “one in a million”.

Morgan Miller-Smith, 16, from Conwy, died at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, Bodelwyddan, in the early hours of Sunday, October 29.

Police believe he may have taken ecstasy-type tablets described as pink and squareshaped with the Rolls Royce RR symbol on one side and 200mg on the other.

Police were notified by the Welsh Ambulance Service at 1.11am on Sunday that he was taken ill after attending the annual Halloween rave at Gwytherin, Abergele.

The family of Morgan MillerSmith have released a tribute to him, describing the schoolboy as “kind, caring and always happy”.

They said: “Morgan, or ‘Morgs’ as he was known to his family, was always happy, and was a very likeable person. He was kind, caring and lived life to the full.

“He was funny and made everyone laugh. He was known for his quick wit and dry sense of humour. He had a passion for TV and spending time with his friends.

“He was in the sixth form at Ysgol Aberconwy and was known for being very clever, especially in maths and science. Alongside school Morgan worked at L’s coffee and bookshop with his friends and family.

“Morgan would always make you smile and was one in a million. He was loved and was highly thought of by everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed by all.

“We would like to extend our thanks to the emergency services and all who helped him at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd. No words can describe our gratitude to all those involved.

“We would also like to thank everyone for their messages, offers of support and for showing our family respect at this sad time. We will be forever grateful.”

On Monday, police warned young local people to take heed after a post-mortem on Morgan Miller-Smith showed his death was drugs-related.
