Girl, nine, writes to ‘the boys who killed my daddy’

-

A NINE-YEAR-OLD girl has written a letter to the teenagers who killed her father.

Amarjeet ‘VJ’ Singh-Bhakar was stabbed during an altercation in April when two rival gangs – one from Rhyl and one from Manchester – clashed over cannabis.

The shopkeeper died of catastrophic blood loss following multiple stab wounds including a fatal one to the neck in Prince Edward Avenue, Rhyl, on April 30.

In the letter, his daughter Jaya Singh-Bhakar wrote to the “boys who killed my daddy.’

Her mum Sushi Dass, who was the partner of 37-yearold Mr Singh-Bhakar, revealed the contents of the letter at Mold Crown Court as his killers were jailed yesterday.

The letter read: “To the boys who killed my daddy, from Jaya, his daughter ... the man with the bandanna was my daddy and you made everyone in Manchester cry because you killed my daddy.

“He was funny. He was the best person in the world ever. He laughed, he was funny, his name was VJ. We now feel very sad that he is gone. Me and my sister and my mum cry in the night for him. At his funeral everyone cried sadly. My mum is now on her own and she cries all the time.”

During what has been described as a planned fight, Mr Singh-Bhakar was killed and his cousin Amar Bahakar Singh was seriously wounded.

Mr Singh-Bhakar’s killers – two teenagers who cannot be named for legal reasons – were jailed for six years each for manslaughter.

Mohanjeet Singh and Amar Singh were also sentenced for violent disorder. Both men were given 18-month prison sentences, suspended for two years, with a rehabilitation order and 140 hours community service.

Daniel Swann was sentenced to three years in prison for violent disorder.
