The price you’d pay for Swans squad

SWANSEA City have the 43rd most valuable squad in Europe, according to the findings of a new report.

The Swans’ squad is currently valued at 168m euros, or just shy of £150m, placing them comfortabl­y inside the top 50 most valuable clubs across Europe’s top five leagues.

Pep Guardiola’s Man City are ranked first with a squad value of 1.196bn euros, slightly ahead of Premier League rivals Tottenham who nick second spot ahead of La Liga giants Barcelona.

Chelsea and Manchester United complete the top five while Real Madrid, Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain, Atletico Madrid and Juventus occupy the remaining top 10 positions.

The report – conducted by The Football Observator­y – uses a scientific method to determine the value of players based on their performanc­e, age and length of contract as well as taking into account the type of club likely to be interested in that player.

And according to their findings, centre-back Alfie Mawson is the Swans’ most valuable player.

Mawson is valued at 34m euros, around £30m.

The report deduced that Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar is the most valuable player in Europe right now, with his estimated transfer value of 218m euros placing him ahead of Tottenham’s Harry Kane (186m euros), Here are their findings...
