THE FSB team in Wales has been bolstered by the appointment of Rob Basini as development manager for south Wales.

Mr Basini, who joins FSB from Business Wales, will be responsible for supporting FSB’s 6,000 members across south Wales and will be a key contact for business owners in the region.

As well as having run his own businesses previously, he has been providing business support in south Wales for eight years, including most recently at Business Wales, where he was relationship manager.

Mr Basini worked advising businesses on growth strategy and many other issues during his time at Business Wales and looks forward to bringing a host of skills and experience to FSB Wales.

He said: “I’ve long admired the work that the FSB does and what the organisation stands for.

“In my own career as a small business owner, I have benefited from membership of the FSB, and in my role as a business adviser I’ve seen how the FSB can support businesses of all kinds and sizes.

“I’m really looking forward to helping the FSB work towards its aim of helping small businesses achieve their ambitions, which can only be good for the Welsh economy as a whole.”

FSB Wales head of external affairs Ben Cottam added: “I’m really pleased to welcome Rob to the FSB Wales team. He brings with him a wealth of experience that I am sure will be put to excellent use as he joins the team.

“FSB Wales has a fantastic team of policy, communications and engagement professionals working with our members in engaging decision-makers and stakeholders at all levels.

“With the introduction of city deals and possible growth deals, the business landscape in Wales is changing, and Rob will no doubt be an integral part of the team that continues to deliver for businesses in Wales.”
