Cat home two years after going missing

-

A CAT has been reunited with her owners two years after going missing.

The four-year-old black tabby called Molly went missing from her family home in Aberdare in September 2015.

RSPCA Cymru was able to track down her surprised owners after she was found in a box near Intermediate Road in Brynmawr, near Brynmawr Comprehensive School, on Monday.

When she was scanned at the RSPCA’s Merthyr Tydfil clinic, a vet found she was microchipped and Molly’s owner, Mark Evans, was given a call with the good news.

Collection officer Stephanie Davidson said it was a “mystery” where Molly had been for the last two years.

She added: “It appears she had been sadly abandoned.

“Maybe she had strayed and had been looked after by someone who no longer could care for her.

“But we are delighted that there is a happy ending and she has been returned to her owners.”

Owner Mark said: “I was so surprised to get the call.

“She had disappeared one weekend in September 2015 and we just didn’t know what happened to her.

“We’d had her for 10 months before, and we did worry about her even for a long time after.

“I would often think about her from time to time.

“It is a big relief she is OK and I hope she can now settle back in with us.”
