Wake Up! Embrace to rock city venue

Embrace at Tramshed, Cardiff

-

ALTERNATIVE rock band Embrace have announced a brand-new tour, and will make a stop in Cardiff.

The indie group will be playing tracks to celebrate their forthcoming album, Love is a Basic Need, at city venue Tramshed on Sunday, April 1, 2018.

From West Yorkshire, Embrace were hugely popular during the 2000s, with hits such as Gravity, Ashes and Nature’s Law.

Their latest offering, which will go on sale from Friday, March 6, features their latest single releases Wake Up Call, and Love is a Basic Need.

Available as an instant download, Wake Up Call is an anthemic and powerful song with impactful strings, keyboards and guitars, complete with Danny McNamara’s emotive and heartfelt vocals.

Talking about the album, he said: “Wake Up Call is about realising you’re in a toxic relationship and finding the strength to move on. It’s hard leaving someone who has come to feel like a part of you. Settling down is OK but life’s too short to settle for. It’s got one of my favourite lyrics from the whole album on it – ‘The summer’s not over, it’s only begun / But it feels like October now you’re not around’.”

The band recently supported music giants Coldplay on their stadium tour, including their two dates at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, and also performed an intimate show at their very own award-winning Secret Festival, near Leeds.

Embrace will perform at the Tramshed on Sunday, April 1, 2018. Pre-sale tickets go on sale today, with a general sale this Friday, at 10am.

Tickets cost £24.65 for general admission, and £33.65 for a bundle ticket that includes a CD and signed lyric sheet. The event is for over-14s only.
