Council will honour tickets from firm facing liquidation

-

CUSTOMERS who bought tickets from a company which is about to go into liquidation have been reassured they will still be able to get into some major events over Christmas – with Cardiff council honouring all tickets for its events bought through the ticketing agency.

It was confirmed on Wednesday that Ticketline (UK) Limited, based on Westgate Street in Cardiff, was about to go into liquidation after suffering a “downturn in trade”.

The company provided tickets for live shows, sporting events and day trips, many to London.

Insolvency and restructuring firm CVR Global, who were called in, said letters were being sent out to customers who had booked tickets with the company.

A spokesman for CVR Global said around three or four members of staff at the company were made redundant on Monday.

Cardiff council, which runs a Santa’s Grotto at Cardiff Castle every year, has confirmed that customers who had already bought tickets through Ticketline (UK) Limited will still be able to attend.

In a statement, Cardiff council said: “We would like to reassure customers who have bought Santa’s Grotto tickets for Cardiff Castle and the Cardiff Children’s Literature Festival launch with Sir Chris Hoy on December 12, via Ticketline (UK) Limited, that the Council will honour all pre-paid e-tickets.”

Ticketline (UK) Limited is distinct from the company Ticketline which is a separate business.
