Things Can Only Get Better for 80s star
Howard Jones, Tramshed, Cardiff
EIGHTIES sensation Howard Jones is returning to Cardiff as part of his UK tour.
The No one is to Blame singer returns to the road this week, his first tour since 2014, with his new and extended Electric Band.
It coincides with a brand new ‘Best Of’ release entitled Best (1983-2017), so audiences can expect to hear many of Jones’ chart-topping singles – some of which include What is Love, Things Can Only Get Better and Everlasting Love.
There will also be performances of the artist’s new songs that featured in last year’s Eddie the Eagle film and his 2015 multi-media ‘Engage’ project.
Playing at Tramshed tomorrow, multi-instrumentalist Jones first burst onto the contemporary music scene in 1983. Well-known for pioneering synthesizers and thought-provoking lyrics, Jones set out his manifesto in his very first single New Song, where the lyrics called on the listener to challenge their preconceived ideas, and “throw off your mental chains”.
Along with New Song, his first two albums, the twice-platinum number one-selling Human’s Lib (1984) and Dream into Action, brought Jones a host of Top 10 hits including Things Can Only Get Better, What Is Love?, Pearl in the Shell, Like to Get to Know You Well, Hide and Seek, Look Mama and No One Is To Blame, which reached the top spot in the USA.
Tickets cost £27.50 and can be purchased online from www. ticketmaster.co.uk or by calling the Tramshed box office on 020 7749 0478. Tomorrow’s gig is for over-14s only.
