Bale speculation is ‘trash’

-

GARETH Bale’s agent has dismissed speculation linking the winger with a move away from Real Madrid as “trash”, adding that the winger wants to end his career at the club.

Bale came off the bench to provide two assists on his comeback from injury on Tuesday evening, as Real booked their place in the last 16 of the Copa del Rey with a 4-2 aggregate win over third-tier minnows Fuenlebrada.

The former Tottenham star had been previously been sidelined for two months, with his injury struggles restricting him to just nine games in the current campaign.

His struggle for first-team action had led to some suggestions in Spain that Real could be willing to listen to offers for the 28-year-old, with Manchester United the club most strongly linked with a bigmoney bid.

United boss Jose Mourinho made little secret of his admiration for the forward and, despite Bale’s insistence on staying at the Bernabeu, question marks over his future his future have continued.

But Bale’s agent, Jonathan Barnett has emphatically slammed such speculation.

Speaking to fichajes.com , he said: “I think that those who write these stories should go back to school and learn what journalism should be like, it’s not inventing stories, I do not want to get angry because I read invented stories.

“Some journalists in Spain write trash, they aren’t based on football reasons and this is a mistake, they don’t take the time to analyse what he has done. The fans should adore him.”

Barnett added that Bale is actually keen on ending his career at the Bernabeu, and that the club’s fans are perhaps guilty of overlooking the winger’s obvious talents.

“He wants to play the rest of his life at Real Madrid,” he said.
