Admiral ‘proud’ to celebrate 10 consecutive years on FTSE 100

-

MOTOR insurance to price comparison giant Admiral is celebrating 10 consecutive years on the influential FTSE 100.

The FTSE 100 is an index of the 100 biggest firms listed on the London Stock Exchange, based on market capitalisation.

Other bluechip firms on the index include Barclays, Centrica, Legal & General, Persimmon and Vodafone.

Following its flotation on London Stock Exchange in 2004, Admiral entered the FTSE 100 three years later, where it has remained ever since.

Its chief executive David Stevens, said: “We are very proud to have remained in the FTSE 100 for 10 consecutive years.

“This would not have been possible without all the hard work put in by every member of staff across Admiral Group.

“On our first day on the stock market, back in 2004, you could have bought the whole of Admiral for just under £800m.

“By the time we first joined the FTSE 100, you’d have needed to find £2.7bn and now, 10 years later, it’d take a very substantial £5bn to buy all our shares.

“This is hugely satisfying as it’s all through organic growth and continued innovation.”

On top of this, Admiral is one of the best places to work in the world according to the World’s Best Workplaces list.

Admiral has offices in Cardiff, Swansea and Newport and with its overseas operations has a total workforce of nearly 8,000.

It has a current market capitalisation of £5.4bn.
