AM has right to express concerns
WHILST I would never support Ukip, Gareth Bennett AM has the right to express concerns on the amount of tolerance directed at very small, well organised campaigning groups supporting the LGBT community expansion.
I’m doubtful if any AM who was previously active in private business, I suspect we can count them on one hand, has experienced a male management member of staff with two adult children announcing his intention to change gender gradually at over-50. I have. It’s a business nightmare, for toilet facilities available, female members of staff. Plus dealing with employment legal requirements. I have friends, suppliers and political colleagues who have chosen an alternative sexual lifestyle, however, I do not consider this as “normal”. Politicians in Cardiff Bay need to check the Oxford dictionary.
Health financial resources are normally required for gender transfers. Mr Bennett AM is clear, we need to consider the impact of pandering to a extremely small minority. All politicians, plus society, need to consider the medium term implications, where is this growing profiling demand for sexual physical changes leading ?
I’m hopeful, before continuing a ban on Mr. Bennett, presiding officer Elin Jones AM will consider the issue of free speech. It’s no good advocating more AMs if we just want them being instructed on what issues they can raise and the contribution they can make. It’s obvious to a vast majority of those I work and socialise with, future politicians elected to Cardiff Bay need to receive a real-life experience first.
Well done Mr Bennett, someone needed to talk outside the establishment box. Clayton Jones Ynysybwl
