Let’s improve life for all our older people

-

AS the New Year unfolds, Age Cymru is calling on politicians and Welsh communities to make Wales even more age friendly in 2018.

We want 2018 to be the year when older people get the health and social care they need, when they need it, so they can live a fulfilled and dignified life. We want this to be the year when older people are no longer blighted by loneliness and isolation but instead are able to engage fully with their community.

And wouldn’t it be a huge achievement if we could protect older people from financial scams perpetrated by unscrupulous criminals?

We want 2018 to be the year when older people can choose a care home that best suits their needs.

Finally, we want 2018 to be the year in which our older generation are cherished for their contribution to Welsh life, be it as carers for loved ones, community volunteers, valued members of our workforce, or indeed, just for being themselves.

We would love to hear from older people, and your friends and relatives, to tell us how you would like to make Wales even more age friendly in 2018.

Are public toilets important to you? Does public transport serve your needs? Are you aware of all the entitlements you may claim?

You may call us on 029 2043 1555, email enquiries@agecymru.org. uk, or write to Age Cymru at 13/14 Neptune Court, Cardiff, CF24 5PJ.

We look forward to hearing from you. Happy New Year.
