ZipWorld gets 2018 off to an adventurous start

-

ZIP World is looking to recruit up to 100 new members of staff in 2018.

The adventure tourism brand is initially looking to hire instructors at its three sites.

There are 34 positions available at the Slate Caverns at Blaenau Ffestiniog; 12 positions at Zip World Fforest in Betws Y Coed; and 25 instructor jobs at Penrhyn Quarry, Bethesda.

More positions are expected to be added later in the year, depending on demand.

Grace Jones, operations manager at Zip World Fforest, said: “Zip World is a wonderful place to work. You are lucky to have the beauty of north Wales on your doorstep, the excitement and thrill of a variety of adventures to work with each day, as well as a great team who are not only colleagues but become your friends too.

“The company has grown so much, going from a handful of employees to 300-plus in just five years, and is always supportive of personal and professional development.

“Zip World’s instructor training is loads of fun and there is a strong focus on safety, which means all our visitors can enjoy our activities and know they are in safe hands.”

A Zip World instructor is paid £8.50 per hour, but will be paid at the National Minimum Wage rate for the initial training period. An Adventure Host is paid £8.81.

The advert for the positions asks candidates to be able to positively interact with a wide range of groups and individuals, and have high energy levels with a cheerful attitude and the ability to work under pressure.

Sales for the company reached £7.2m in 2016, and this year it will start work on an adventure hotel near Snowdonia.
