Van victim held in murder probe

A PEDESTRIAN who was hit by a van has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a woman who was found dead at a house four hours after the collision.

Police in Hereford are working to establish the circumstances of both incidents and have said their thoughts are with the family and friends of those involved.

The woman’s body was found after officers went to a house in Highmore Street at around 10.20pm on Tuesday.

West Mercia Police said formal identification of the woman, in her 50s, has not yet taken place but her next of kin have been notified.

A 40-year-old man from Hereford has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is receiving treatment in hospital for injuries suffered in the van collision.
