Make boozers pay their NHS bills!

THE Welsh statesman Aneurin Bevan did not create the NHS 70 years ago in 1948 for it to be constantly abused by UK citizens who end up in A&E departments due to alcohol and drug abuse after a night out.

The solution to alleviate some of the financial pressures on our unique and globally admired system caused by culprits ending up in hospitals due to self-inflicted injuries, especially at weekends, has been staring MPs and AMs in the face for years. Yes, attend to their injuries but send them the bill on Monday morning, and yes, I am serious. Why not?
