POLICE have named a 22-year-old woman and a baby girl who died following a collision on the A487 in Gellilydan on Thursday.

Anna Williams from Penrhyndeudraeth and sixmonth-old Millie Wyn Ginnever from Blaenau Ffestiniog, Gwynedd, were killed after a car collided with a lorry on the A487, North Wales Police say.

Both were travelling in a Ford Fiesta when it collided with the truck shortly before 11.20am.

The driver of the Fiesta remains in hospital in Stoke where her condition is described as critical. Specialist officers are currently working to support the families who have requested that their privacy is respected at this time.

Tributes were posted on the Daily Post’s Facebook page on Thursday, with Margaret Pritchard writing: “RIP, little one.”

A schoolfriend said Anna, who is in her 20s, attended Ysgol Ardudwy, Harlech, and later studied art at Coleg Menai before attending Liverpool John Moores University.

She worked for a time at Spooner’s Bar and Grill at the Ffestiniog railway station in Porthmadog.
