-

HERE’S some news which is sure to get your four-legged friends’ tails wagging. Going to the cinema with our dogs in tow has - until now - been frowned upon. But if a family night out for you just has to involve every member of the family, you’ll now be able to attend Wales’ first ‘dog-furiendly cinema’.

Launched to coincide the Chinese Year of the Dog, the inaugural event in Swansea will include the screening of a Disney favourite. The dog-friendly film will be shown on Saturday, February 17, 6pm at Cinema & Co, 17 Castle Street, Swansea SA1 1JF.

The event will start with a quiz about famous dogs from the worlds of film and TV, during which doggy snacks will be available. This will be followed by some nutritional advice for dog owners.

And then its time for the main event, a screening of Disney’s 1993 canine adventure film Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey.

Tickets starting from £9 are available from the Cinema and Co. website or call 0730 590 8260.

Upcoming screenings at Cinema & Co include Adventures in Babysitting (tonight), Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (February 20), The Florida Project (March 21) and Mrs Doubtfire (March 31).

There are also two Valentine’s Daythemed screenings, beginning tomorrow, which include Love is Thicker Than Water and A Welsh Love Connection.
