Business Wales recognises exceptional mentoring at annual awards ceremony

-

BUSINESS Wales marked the achievements of its business mentors and mentees at the second Excellence in Mentoring Awards ceremony in Cardiff.

Following the success of the inaugural Excellence in Mentoring Awards Ceremony last year, Business Wales recognised once again the invaluable work of its business mentors and the success of their mentees at a gala dinner, held at the SSE Swalec Stadium in Cardiff, on January 31. Part of National Mentoring Month, the event was a celebration of business mentoring across the country and its significant contribution to developing the people, economy and culture of Wales.

The night, attended by mentors, mentees and partner organisations, saw eleven exceptional individuals receive an award for their outstanding contribution to the mentoring programme, with categories including Business Start-Up, Growing Business, Social Enterprise and Celebrating Diversity in Mentoring.

Two special awards were also presented on the night. The Exceptional Contribution to Mentoring award went to one of Business Wales’ North Wales mentors, Janet Matthews, and the Special Award for Mentee of the Year went to Dave Easterbrook from Fizzy Foam for his remarkable business growth over the last couple of years.

Bronwen Raine, National Mentoring Lead at Business Wales, commented: “We are delighted that we were able to host another successful event to showcase the incredible work of our mentors and the inspirational entrepreneurs they support.

“It is a great privilege to be involved in the Business Wales Mentoring Programme, and to see how this benefits not only the entrepreneurs but the mentors themselves, and I would encourage everyone who wants to get involved in this worthy project, to get in touch.”
