HALF TERM EVENTS Sink your teeth a sound reaction into these tasty half-term treats From dinosaurs to Ghostbuste­rs, we’ve got some great ideas on how to keep the whole family entertaine­d in and around Swansea Bay when the schools break up

1. Meet the animals from the rainforest

Where: Plantasia, Parc Tawe, Swansea SA1 2AL When: Tuesday, February 20 Thursday, February 22. Four shows a day at 10.30am, noon, 2pm and 3.15pm Do you want to come face-toface with insects, snakes, an iguana and a bird eating tarantula? Then pop along to Plantasia this half term and learn all about the importance of looking after and protecting the rainforest­s of the world.

Tickets for Animal Zone: Rainforest Adventure cost £4.50 for children (under 3s go free) and £5.50 for adults. Booking is essential.

2. Go to the circus

Where: Swansea Grand Theatre, Singleton Street, Swansea SA1 3QJ When: 7pm Cirque Du Hilarious returns to Swansea with The Magical Mischief Tour.

Starring the “superstars of slapstick” Clive Webb and Danny Adams, expect madcap humour and lunacy suitable for all ages.

3. Come face to face with dinosaurs...

Where: St Carmarthen When: Wednesday, February 21, 10.30am to 3pm There’s a giant dinosaur heading to Carmarthen this half-term, and everyone is invited along to the Jurassic party.

The free event will be at St Catherine’s Walk on Wednesday, February 21, from 10.30am to 3pm, and will be a chance for families to enjoy some prehistori­c fun with comedy cavemen and appearance­s from three baby dinosaurs.

The Pre Hee Men will be there Catherine’s Walk, with a specially themed car, complete with Stone Age music and sound effects, to cause some caveman chaos.

And dino fans will be glad to know that there’ll be a baby T Rex in town, which stands at 8ft tall and 17ft long.

4 . ... or tackle some inflatable dinosaurs

Where: LC, Oystermout­h Rd, Swansea SA1 3ST When: Tuesday, February 20 and Wednesday, February 21. Wacky World have invented a “wacky” new experience, and they are bringing it to Swansea this half term.

The UK’s largest indoor inflatable play arena will be stopping off at the LC for two days to take little ones - and adults - on a journey back to the Jurassic age.

Described as a cross between TV shows Total Wipeout and Get Your Own Back, new attraction­s for spring include a seven-foot T Rex who roars and roams.

Get your hands dirty at Wyevale Garden Centre Where: Wyevale Garden Centre, Siemens Way, Enterprise Park, Swansea SA7 9FT When: Monday, February 19 Friday, February 23 Children will have the chance to exercise their creativity at Wyevale Garden Centres’ Craft Sessions this February. Each session will aim to bring to life the joys of gardening and wildlife for little ones, costing £2.50 for a 20 minutes. Each day will have a different theme: • Monday: Decorate a cosy bird box for your garden birds. • Tuesday: Plant your own terrarium and give your plants a place to thrive. • Wednesday: Plant your own mini garden with giant flowers, beehives and wild friends. • Thursday: Plant your own flower and decorate a pot and plant marker. • Friday: Create your own feeder platform to entice more birds into your garden.

6. Bust some ghosts

Where: Ffwrnes, Park Street, Llanelli SA15 3YE When: Thursday, February 22, 2.30pm If there’s something strange this February half term, who ya gonna call?

The profession­al paranormal investigat­ors and eliminator­s will be busting some pesky poltergeis­ts when the 1984 classic starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson gets a big screen outing in The Pre Hee Men at St Catherine’s Walk
