Property value gap in Wales is now £933,958

THE most and least expensive streets in South Wales have been revealed – with nearly £1million difference between them.

The most expensive road in South Wales in 2017 was Cefn Coed Road in Cardiff, where the average price of a property was £963,333, based on three sales.

Ystrad Road, Ystrad, was the least expensive road in south Wales in 2017, with an average price of £29,375.

This is a difference of £933,958, despite them being just over 20 miles apart.

The figures are based on data from the Land Registry, which lists the price paid for every residentia­l property bought at market value which are then registered. The data includes buy to let sales, repossessi­ons, and property bought through companies.

Llandaff Place, Cardiff was the second most expensive street in the area, with an average price of £837,750, followed by St Michael’s Road, Cardiff, with an average price of £834,167.

Whitcliffe Drive, Penarth, was next, with an average price of £799,167, followed by Victoria Road, Penarth, with an average price of £740,028.

Eastgate in Cowbridge came sixth, with an average price of £739,218 and Roger’s Lane in Bridgend followed next, where the average price of a property is £737,003.

Next was St Andrew’s Road in Dinas Powys, with an average price of £711,875. The Avenue in Cardiff took the next spot, with an average price of £710,667.

On the other end of the scale, the second least expensive street after Ystrad Road was Ceridwen Street in Ferndale, where the average property cost £34,498.

Next was Woodfield Terrace in Mountain Ash, with an average price of £35,333, followed by William Street in Pentre, where the average price of a home was £36,233.

East Road in Ferndale took the next spot, with an average price of £38,885 and was followed by Gelligaled Road in Pentre where the average cost of a property was £39,665.

The seventh least expensive street in south Wales was Strand Road, in Mountain Ash, with an average price of £39,665, followed by Brynheulog in Treorchy, where the average price stood at £40,500.

Next was Blaen Y Cwm Terrace, also in Treorchy, with an average price of £41,125, and Long Row in Ferndale came 10th, with an average price of £41,299.

The most expensive homes in Swansea are around the half a million pound mark.

Langland Court Road topped the most expensive street in Swansea, with an average price of £533,125. It was followed by Southgate Road, which had an average price of £526,667, followed by Langland Bay Road, where the average price was £504,030.

At the other end of the scale, the least expensive street was Crythan Road in Neath, which had an average price of £46,650.

It was followed by Henshaw Street in Port Talbot, where the average price was £47,000; and Villiers Road in Port Talbot, which had an average price of £47,333.

In North Wales, the most expensive street was Deganwy Quay in Conwy, which had an average price of £695,000.

That was followed by Gannock Park, also in Conwy, with an average price of £464,143, followed by Bryn Y Groes in Wrexham, with an average price of £433,333.

The least expensive street in North Wales was Conway Road in Colwyn Bay, with an average price of £45,000.

Grove Road, also in Colwyn Bay, was next, with an average price of £46,500, followed by Greenfield Road in Colwyn Bay with an average price of £48,625.

The least expensive street in England and Wales was Verdun Terrace in Ferryhill, Durham, where the average price was £18,233.
