Get real about wind energy

-

OVER recent days, some Welsh politicians have complained about the acute shortage of charging points across Wales, for electric-powered cars. Very often, these are the same politicians who want Wales – a little country which once powered a great deal of the world with its fossil fuels – to become “fossil-fuel free”. This is, of course, to combat evil “global warming”... after the coldest March in decades!

These same politicians are advocates of wind energy. However, the wind frequently provides less than 5% of our UK electricity supply. Therefore, how is it going to provide the power for tens of millions of cars as well? Absolutely crazy!

Are we going to use magic to power the UK and its vehicles?

Meanwhile, Germany, the real powerhouse of Europe, which supplies many of these hypocritical politicians with their fancy, expensive cars, generates most of its massive electricity supply from fossil fuels and nuclear power stations (which they are meant to be closing).

For example, on March 26 at 5pm, Germany generated 17,140 MW from lignite (filthy brown coal), 16,660 MW from hard coal, 9259 MW from nuclear, 5195 MW from gas and a paltry 83 MW from wind energy.

If these naive Welsh politicians think that Germany, which exports millions of cars all over the world, is going to produce them, and drive them, without fossil fuels ,they must be dreaming! They need to get real!
