Man in court on murder charge

A MAN appeared in court yesterday accused of murdering a 57-year-old in Newport.

Paul Paget, 54, of Brynderwen Road, Newport, south Wales, has not yet entered pleas to charges of murder and burglary.

The charges relate to an incident in Newport on Monday, January 15. Police found the body of Anthony Bubbins, pictured, in a house on Brynderwen Road at around 3.30pm.

Co-defendant Steven Appleton, 32, of Seabreeze Drive, Newport, has not yet entered pleas to charges of burglary and supplying Class B drugs.

Paget and Appleton were both remanded in custody until the next preparatory hearing on April 30.
