Driver in custody after women hurt
A TEENAGER has appeared in court after three women were injured when hit by a car in Blackpool on Saturday night.
Jake Hartley, 19, was at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court, charged with nine offences.
Hartley, of Todmorden, Lancs, is accused of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent, three counts of assault relating, dangerous driving, driving without a licence, driving without insurance and possession of a stun gun. He is also accused of drink-driving, giving a reading of 81 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, with the drink-drive limit being 35 microgrammes.
Chairman of the bench Paul Farquhar remanded Hartley into custody to next appear at Preston Crown Court on May 16.
