Sincere thank you to the Royal Glamorgan

-

MY husband and I recently had the amazing experience of welcoming our baby girl, Eloise, into the world. Eloise was born at the outstanding Royal Glamorgan Hospital. On behalf of all three of us I wanted to convey our sincerest thank you to the wonderfully caring and hardworking team of midwives, doctors, anaesthetists, consultants and paediatricians, as well as healthcare support staff who brought our little girl safely into the world. We could not have asked for better care and would like to praise the efforts of both the midwife-led and consultant-led services at the hospital – these staff really are a credit to the NHS in Wales.

As I write this, I understand that there are plans by Cwm Taf UHB to relocate the maternity services away from RGH. I cannot emphasise enough how strongly I feel that this would be a real loss to the area, especially as the services are already heavily used. This service is exemplary and I feel that the strong, collaborative working that I saw between the various teams of staff, not to mention the convenience of having integrated services all on one site, should remain. I can only hope that this decision will be reviewed so that other women and their babies can benefit from the fantastic levels of care received by myself and family.

Thank you once again to all those involved in our care – we feel very grateful and blessed.
