Four are promoted within the ranks of Rio architects
CARDIFF and London based Rio architects has made four promotions as the business looks to support future growth across its offices.
All of the appointments have been made within the firm’s operations team led by Mike Dacey who, with over 30 years of experience in the management and delivery of major construction projects, becomes operations director. Having joined Rio architects in 2015, Mr Dacey will focus on developing all operational aspects of the business.
The operations team has been further expanded with the promotions of Lee Protheroe and Chris Taylor, who join Eldon Lewis at senior associate level.
Mr Protheroe and Mr Taylor have both been with Rio for more than 10 years.
Mr Protheroe has recently delivered the multi-award-winning One Central Square, while Mr Taylor is currently driving Rio’s proposals for phase one of Rightacres new Central Quay scheme in Cardiff.
Additionally, Jamie Yeoman, who has more than 15 years of experience of delivering large, complex projects as part of a multi-disciplinary team, becomes an associate with particular focus on the education sector.
Mr Yeoman is also a member of the Design Commission for Wales and will work alongside fellow associates Shirley Hamill and Ffion Lanchbury and Rio’s practice manager Kathryn White to support the operations team.
Richard Roberts, co-founding director of Rio, said: “It is very satisfying to see professional development in action and Rio’s continued investment in our people as we look to service our growing client base.
“These new positions strategically focus on developing our key target sectors, including education, retail, residential, industrial and commercial, and will further improve the way we efficiently deliver excellent projects and innovate.”
