Share your story about your care experiences
SOCIAL Care Wales is pleased to be involved in Measuring the Mountain – an all-Wales project evaluating the impact of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014.
It is a collaboration between the public sector, the third sector and, most importantly, the people of Wales.
During the next few months, the project will collect stories from people with recent experience of social care to build a picture of what social care feels like for the individuals involved.
As a partner in the project, I am keen to learn about people’s stories to inform the future priorities for Social Care Wales.
The project, which is funded by the Welsh Government, will create a network of listeners who will help people share their stories and play a vital role in ensuring that everyone who has a story is able to share it.
If you have a story to share, or if you know others who do, please get involved.
The more stories we collect, the richer the picture we can create for Wales.
The Measuring the Mountain team will share their findings with the Welsh Government, social care professionals, participants and, through their website and presentations, the people of Wales.
In September, the project will host a citizens’ jury at the Liberty Stadium in Swansea to look more closely at the main issues that arise from the stories.
Selected members of the public will examine a policy question, draw conclusions and present their recommendations.
You can find more information about all aspects of the project, including how to be a listener, share a story or get involved in the citizens’ jury on the Measuring the Mountain website at www.mtm.wales/ www.mym.cymru.
Alternatively, you can contact Katie Cooke, the project manager, at kcooke@interlinkrct.org.uk or on 07964 407 739.
Please use this opportunity to share your story.
