Store cattle

Trade was absolutely on fire at the mid-month sale of store cattle, with some excellent bunches of cattle being sold in just an hour and a half, which led buyers to question why more cattle couldn’t be sold in bunches at the end of the month sales – vendors, please note buyers like bunches!

The averages were better on steers than the end of March, with heifers selling very similar.

Averages of the day were 235.61p a kg or £1014.71 per head for steers and heifers averaged 215.32p a kg or £889.24 per head.
