Nominations open for 2018 business list 35 Under 35 celebrates young talent
MEMBERS of previous WalesOnline 35 Under 35 lists gathered to talk business, network and to mark this year’s call out for entrants.
The Mexican restaurant Wahaca in Cardiff hosted the night that saw nominations open for the class of 2018.
The annual list, which has been going since 2014, has seen the number of entrants to be included substantially increase every year.
“The WalesOnline 35 under 35 annual event has grown each year, and for those included it can be seen as a real badge of honour,” said Paul Rowland WalesOnline editor and Media Wales editor in chief.
“The variety of those included in the past demonstrates the huge array of talent we have in Welsh business, as well as in the public, education and third sectors.
“It is a tough job choosing the final 70, which again proves the depth of talent we have here in Wales.”
This year’s event is sponsored by FOR Cardiff.
“Cardiff has a thriving young population and punches above its weight ranking higher than a number of larger cities in our talent competitiveness,” said Adrian Field, executive director of FOR Cardiff. This shows that smaller cities like Cardiff, with three major universities, provide a better quality of life for higher-level talent.
“This is why as Cardiff’s business improvement district we’re passionate about encouraging young business people to flourish and prosper in Wales’ capital city and are delighted to sponsor the 35 Under 35.”
You can nominate or enter yourself on WalesOnline and the 35 Under 35 Class of 2018 will be announced in the summer.
Sally Krouma, Media Wales marketing manager, said the night had been a great success with a number of people nominating others and putting themselves forward.
“We’re proud to kick off the search for the class of 2018 with an informal event to celebrate our previous listees’ successes,” said Sally.
“Thank you to all those who attended the event. It was fantastic to see so many great minds under one roof.”
