Enter the Isuzu Stealth pick-up

- DAVID WHINYATES newsdesk@walesonline.co.uk

IT’S hard to imagine anything less stealthy than a pick-up truck, but that’s what Isuzu claims to have come up with.

Just 10 examples of the new D-Max Arctic Trucks Stealth will be produced – and if you find it difficult to get your mouth round the moniker, you’ll probably find it even more tricky to get your imagination around the asking price of £44,005.

However, this very special, special edition – revealed at the 2018 CV Show in Birmingham – certainly looks the part and comes with a raft of extras designed to make it stand out from the crowd.

With all the chrome removed, it’s certainly no shrinking violet. Paint finish is Cosmic Black mica and the roof bars, side steps, radiator grille, fog light surrounds, rear bumper trim, badges, door mirrors and handles are all painted black.

Further additions to the exterior include both a black rear sports bar and black mountain top roller cover plus LED headlights and front fog lights, as well as two sets of laser lights, on the front bumper and sports bar.

The interior has a bespoke leather trim, designed specifically for the brawny pickup, plus a multifunction colour touchscreen, nine speaker audio system, including subwoofer, and an HDMI Port.

The Stealth is the product of Isuzu’s continuing collaboration with Icelandic company Arctic Trucks which specialises in the re-engineering of four wheel drive vehicles to allow them to be used in the most challenging conditions. It’s based on the existing D-Max Arctic Trucks AT35 Double Cab Automatic.

According to Isuzu’s UK MD William Brown: “Stealth is an exclusive pick-up with a striking presence. The new Stealth builds on the prowess of the Isuzu D-Max Arctic Trucks AT35 and takes it to another level.”
